Poplar wood (Populus Alba)

Populus from popular; because of its fast growing nature and bountiful capacity to populate the landscape. Alba because its leaves are whitish in colour and the wood once worked, provides a canvas of light tones with which to sculpt any number of extraordinary pieces.

Light and robust. Nature’s survivor

Don’t be fooled by its deciduous leaves that fall to the ground in autumn. The poplar tree is strong. And capable of surviving environmental pollution and the saline air of the coast. Typically it is used as a defensive screen within maritime areas. It can withstand the cold, even severe temperatures up to -17° below zero in fact. It likes water, springs, the marshy edges of rivers; perhaps that’s why it’s capable of thriving even in standing waters.

A light wood of bright tones. And with infinite possibilities.

Because of to its beauty and lightness, its evident quality, its malleability for sculpting we at Let’s Pause love white poplar. That’s why we have more than 15 products chiselled out of its wood. Clothes horses, hangars, loungers, couches, side tables, stools, desks, sconces, headboards …When you have been completely seduced by something it’s hard not to imagine it everywhere, making everywhere that it’s used more beautiful.

At the end of their life, our poplar wood pieces decompose and re-fuse with nature to be reborn again. It is the cycle of life. And we believe in it.

THIS IS ONLY POSSIBLE BECAUSE WE DO NOT APPLY ANY ARTIFICIAL TREATMENT TO OUR PRODUCTS. BECAUSE OUR ESSENCE IS THE COMMITMENT TO THE EARTH, AND TO THE ENVIRONMENT.
