Adelfa(Nerium Oleander)

Also known as flower laurel, rose laurel or Roman laurel, the word Adelfa comes etymologically from the Greek Daphne. Resistance and perseverance define her, like the mythological Daphne who, to escape the obsessive love of Apollo, became Laurel, and was able to live freely in the middle of nature.

Resistant and generous

It is a plant native to the Mediterranean basin but also grows in the Sahara, near torrential flows, surviving the harshest droughts. It was the first plant to bloom after the Hiroshima explosion. And, of course, it is an evergreen shrub. Her generosity also makes her extraordinary material.
The ash obtained from burning its branches was used to make gunpowder; its macerated leaves to combat dandruff; Their stems covered leguminous plants to protect them against diseases. And its stems, in the hands of good craftsmen, are transformed into beautiful basketry objects.
Yes, at Let’s Pause we are big fans of Adelfa. (And Dafne).

Daphne merged with the Earth, and the Adelfa pieces from Let’s Pause as well, at the end of their useful life.

This is possible because we do not add any artificial treatment to our creations. Because our essence is the commitment to the Earth and the future of people.
