Description
MATERIAL
Ceroxylon vogelianum (Arecaceae family). Is a palm tree native from Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. It is found in the Andes mountain range at an altitude of around 2000 meters, making it one of the most cold-resistant species within its genus. This relatively small palm forms dense clusters. It is a variant of the spiny palm, and its strong and durable wood is used in the production of canes and other decorative items due to its dark and mottled color.
CRAFT TECHNIQUE
This palm variety can only be worked when it reaches the end of its life cycle, which lasts approximately 15 years and can reach heights of up to 20 meters. Every part of the palm is utilized, and in this case, the slender hanger is crafted by sculpting the root to achieve thin yet sturdy hooks. The wood may display a completely black color or, in some instances, showcase a beautiful marbling in shades of brown.
AFTER CARE & CLEANING
We recommend the use of a dry cloth. It can be scrubbed with mild soap and water and ensure that it dries well to clean any stain on the wood.
