MATERIAL
Poplar wood (Populus Alba). Populus from popular; because of its fast growing nature and bountiful capacity to populate the landscape. Alba because its leaves are whitish in colour and the wood once worked, provides a canvas of light tones with which to sculpt any number of extraordinary pieces.
Esparto (Stipa tenacissima)The etymology of the word esparto references the terms for strength and resistance. When we at Let’s Pause talk about looking for that which is authentic we mean going back to the roots, to the very essence. Like rediscovering materials that grow in the wild as well as age-old techniques that have been employed in crafts since ancient times.
CRAFT TECHNIQUE
Because of to its beauty and lightness, its evident quality, its malleability for sculpting we at Let’s Pause love white poplar. That’s why we have more than 15 products chiselled out of its wood. Clothes horses, hangars, loungers, couches, side tables, stools, desks, sconces, headboards …When you have been completely seduced by something it’s hard not to imagine it everywhere, making everywhere that it’s used more beautiful. The esparto is worked by the expert hands of our craftsmen and turned into lamp shades, rugs, baskets, chaise-longues and bed boards. Four different techniques are employed, passed down in the same way as the trades of old, under the tutorship of a master, imparting the knowledge little by little. This shelf is woven with the recincho technique.
AFTER CARE & CLEANING
We recommend the use of a dry cloth. In the event that the seat is stained, it can be scrubbed with mild soap and water and ensure that it dries well. To clean any stain on the wood, you can apply a cloth with ammonia.
