On the island of Menorca, interior designer Carme Carretero has transformed a 19th century manor house, Sa Farola, into a refuge where history and contemporary design are intertwined, celebrating the essence of the Mediterranean and sustainable interior design. Within, the natural fibre lamps and decorative garlands by Let’s Pause lend warmth and elegance to the spaces.
Faithful to the spirit of the setting, she uses local materials including marés limestone and wild-olive wood to capture the distinctive character of Menorca, while the palette of white and emblematic green tones of the island underlines the light and fresh feel of the spaces.
When it came to the interior design Carme chose an ecological approach to the décor, featuring a selection of lamps and decorative garlands from Let’s Pause to illuminate the different spaces with responsibly designed pieces:
“These Let’s Pause pieces represent the values that I was looking for with this project: warmth, sustainability and a design that creates a dialogue with Mother Nature. Furthermore, they are the perfect balance between craft and contemporary design.”
Made by hand using sustainable materials and natural reusable elements such as vegetable leather and fique these designer lamps create a warm wrap-around lighting that invites peace and calm.
In summary, the exceptional interior design of Carme Carretero at Sa Farola is a textbook example of how different lamps, elements of furniture and decorative objects by Let’s Pause can exist in harmony, offering a unique experience that encompasses design, timeless elegance and flair for sustainable and natural decoration.
