Let’s Pause at Maison & Objet Paris

An Ode to Colour and Handcrafted Lighting.

Let’s Pause presented its latest creations at the Unique & Eclectic Pavilion of the prestigious international fair that took place between the 18th and 22nd of January. Under the Blossoming Elegance concept, our stand was highlighted by its sustainable characteristics: we presented light fittings and accessories made from leaves, roots, tree seeds, flowering pods and other materials sourced from elements discarded by nature that we transform into designer pieces through handicraft techniques.

2024 started with a bang for Let’s Pause: just a few days ago for the first time ever we took part in Maison & Objet, one of the most prestigious international design and decoration fairs within the sector.

We had a clear objective for our grand debut: the stand had to communicate our deep love of nature and sustainable design, as well as representing our story through the elegance of the lamps and other iconic natural pieces by Let’s Pause.

The fair organisers selected us to form part of the Sustainable Design route and their representative, Nina Chardin, who specialises in sustainable interior design and is founder of EDID (Ecole du design intérieur durable), included our stand in a series of guided visits for groups of architects, interior designers and decorators who have a focus on the design of more sustainable spaces.

We were honoured to be able to share our passion with specialists from around the world.

COLOUR AND ORGANIX LUXURY

Located in the pavilion dedicated to Unique & Eclectic brands, the stand was painted in an earthy cherry hibiscus colour, a vibrant shade filled with life and energy. And our inspiration? The fruits, garden vegetables and flowers that flood Latin America with joy and colour. Our Let’s Pause lamps surprised visitors with their stylish organic luxury displayed within this characterful space.

INTERNATIONAL LAUNCH OF THE COLIBRÍ COLLECTION

Our most important new product was the Colibrí pendant lamp collection, the first one where we have risked experimenting with colour combinations, inspired by the plumage of one of the world’s most beautiful and colourful birds.

Another of the highlights was the Nus pendant lamps, with their hand woven shades of fique fibres in a distinctive single strand crochet technique, and the Maar collection of sculptural hanging lamps, also in woven fique as well as the Couro lamps in vegetable leather sourced from the leaf of the palm tree.

OUR UPCYCLING & UNIQUE SPECIES WERE ALSO FEATURED

As well as the lamps, our other Let’s Pause decorative objects captured the attention of the visiting public, liketheGemma, Olivo and Molaris hangers: unique one-of and very beautiful pieces that came about thanks to our passion for the upcyling of elements discarded by Mother Nature.

There was enough space to show the Albeira vegetable fibre Hammock too, one of our “Unique species” pieces hand woven using a knot-free technique by our craftsman Albeiro Camargo. And lastly, our farfalla Raw Oleander Branch armchair was also provided with a special spot within the stand.

The new products that we presented at Maison & Objet are all hand made by cooperatives of craftswomen and men who work according to strict criteria of respect for nature and the combination of family and working committments.
