Materials
The defining material of Couro Pod L is Couro, a remarkable plant-based alternative to leather obtained from the leaves of an American palm tree.
Its naturally fibrous surface, rich chocolate colour and subtle sheen resemble the appearance of aged leather. However, this extraordinary material comes entirely from a botanical source, preserving the original textures and characteristics of the palm leaves.
These leaves originally serve a protective function during the palm tree’s flowering cycle. Once they are no longer needed, Let’s Pause carefully collects them and transforms them into contemporary design objects.
Rather than altering the material with artificial treatments, we celebrate its authentic character. Natural variations in colour, texture and shape become essential elements of the design, making each lamp a distinctive creation.

Artisanal Technique
The Couro Pod L plant-based pendant lamp is created through a meticulous handcrafted process that transforms natural palm leaves into an expressive sculptural form.
Each leaf is carefully shaped by hand using steam, allowing the material to become flexible enough to follow the desired design while preserving its natural texture and distinctive character.
This delicate process requires patience, precision and a deep understanding of the material. Unlike conventional industrial production, working with Couro relies on the artisan’s expertise and sensitivity.
Six palm leaves are organically arranged and joined together using visible handcrafted stitching. These exposed seams become part of the design, highlighting the relationship between natural materials and traditional craftsmanship.
The resulting shape resembles a silkworm cocoon, creating an elegant sculptural volume that interacts with light and enhances the warm tones of the botanical material.
In its Large version, Couro Pod offers a more prominent visual presence, making it an exceptional pendant lamp for dining rooms, living spaces, hotel entrances and distinctive hospitality interiors.

The lamp features a brown aluminium frame and is supplied with a 2.5-metre matte black cotton-covered electrical cable, black lamp holder and plug.
