An homage to the light of the bamboo forest
Natural fique fibres woven by hand, the new Bamboo lighting collection from Let’s Pause is inspired by the organic forms of bamboo. This hardy plant, with its characteristic knots and natural elegance, led us to create a designer lamp that not only illuminates but also creates a charming ambience of dreamy light and shade.
Sometimes inspiration brings you to places where you’ve been before or have just seen in an exhibition, or even an Instagram post. The new Bamboo collection came about thanks to an image that had printed itself on our retina: a woodland of bamboos, tall and impressive, where the rays of light from an unseen sun penetrate sinuously, reflected off the textures of the leaves.
That image, so pleasing to the eye and filled with calm, was the starting point for creating this crafted lamp, made with natural fibres from the fique plant, woven by hand using the crocheting technique.
Crochet for a playful light and shade effect
The crochet technique creates an irregular texture, that lets subtle beams of light pass through in a totally organic way. That feature is perfect for recreating the effect that we were looking for: of sunrays passing through the verdant forests of bamboo shoots. The result provides a warm, wrap around light, that is perfect for creating a relaxing ambience in any space.
A natural and sustainable lamp
The bamboo knots are reinterpreted for each of the pieces belonging to the collection through the use of fique fibres in different colours, a vegetable sourced material that is noteworthy for its hardiness. Its organic material together with the artisanal design make it the perfect choice for anyone looking for a designer lamp that not only is respectful of the environment but adds an authentic style.
Reproducing bamboo stems
With a tubular shade and striped pattern, that references bamboo knots, the Bamboo lamp is designed to work equally well as a standalone light or grouped, especially when combing different sized lamps. The different versions of hanging, floor and table fixtures offer versatility in adapting to different spaces, from dining room tables to cosy corners within the living room or even as a bedside table in the bedroom.
Finishes in organic and contemporary colour tones
The end piece of the lamp features a solid colour, adding a visual contrast. That means that the Bamboo collection is available in three different finishes:
· Raw brown and black, with a natural and charming effect.
· Raw brown and terracotta, that recreates the sensation of warmth.
· Raw brown and white, combining the purity of white with the strength of earthy tones.
Our Bamboo lamps are natural and organic: we don’t use any artificial treatments in our designs, because our very essence is the compromise we make to the planet, its future and the people that populate it.
